Q: Why should I enroll child at Tokyo Children's Academy?
A:
- Tokyo Children's Academy is the only international school that are designed exclusively to meet the needs of children with advanced cognitive abilities.

Q: How do I know my child will succeed at Tokyo Children's Academy?

- T.C. Academy provides educational structures, programs and provisions which motivate them to develop their talents and assist them to perform as closely as possible to their optimum levels. In small classes with intellectual peers students will enjoy the challenge and joy of learning to the full extent of their abilities.

Q: Why should my child stay at Tokyo Children's Academy through Middle School?
A:
- Students who stay to graduate from Tokyo Children's Academy are extremely well-rounded through grounding in a wide variety of disciplines. Happy, friendly, social and well-balanced young adults with a positive outlook on life, they have a strong moral character and a quality of expression that distinguishes them.
- Our graduates have the confidence and skill to communicate and interact with others regardless of the situation, as well as the strong academic background to successfully pursue their future.
- T.C. Academy students who leave early to attend other schools are often moved forward into higher grades, where they must face emotional consequences and potential isolation from being forced to interact out of their peer groups with older students.
Q: Will the students be learning on their own or with other students?
A:Each student will have the opportunity to learn in group settings with other students and also be able to explore topics and subjects on an individual basis at their own rate of learning.
Q: Will students be able to choose from on-line, classroom, university and independent coursework?
A:Each student will have an individualized learning plan based upon his/her abilities and needs. This plan may include multiple learning options such as small group learning, independent study, distance learning, and working with a mentor.
Q: Will these students also be taught how to manage their often intense feelings, emotions, and perfectionistic tendencies?
A:Part of the program at T.C. Academy will be to help the student learn to manage their emotions and feelings in a safe learning environment.
Q: What type of homework will be given to the students?
A:There is no daily homework. The homework will be assigned at times is an extension of the learning in the classroom. It will not be busy work, but meaningful assignments that will engage the student.
Q: How will the program be different from other schools?
A:T.C. Academy will be an un-graded school with accelerated and compacted curriculum to meet the student's learning needs. T.C. Academy will be a place for students with advanced cognitive abilities to be appropriately challenged in a nurturing and supportive environment with his/her intellectual peers.
Q: Can a parent volunteer?
A:Yes, parents are encouraged to volunteer in a variety of ways to assist T.C. Academy in meeting its mission and goals. Every member of the parent body is automatically a member of our Parent Association. The Parent Association is a dynamic group of parents that organizes and hosts a wide range of social and curricular events over the course of the school year. Families are welcome to be as involved as they like in the Parent Association events. Parents also help with some of our After School Clubs. Finally, parents chaperon class field trips and overnights.
Q: How will my child’s progress be assessed and reported to me?
A:Each student will receive regular evaluations that will include yearly achievement tests, independent study assessments, and anecdotal notes of progress.
Q: How long will the school year be?
